The Roush Automotive Collection and Open House

Aug 14, 2010

3 or 4 times a year Roush Industries, Headquartered in Livonia, Michigan, holds an Open House and Cruise-In car show at the Roush Campus on Market Street.

A privately held exhibit, the Roush Automotive Collection is an extensive collection of automotive artifacts and vehicles dedicated to the history and heritage of Jack Roush and Roush Enterprises.

Jack Roush is well known for his passionate enthusiasm for Fords and racing. His education and talent for the craft allowed him to bridge the gap between his racing success and commercially viable products for the public, to create Roush Industries and Roush Performance, developing products like his famous ROUSHcharger, a Roots type supercharger system for the Ford Mustang and a line of Roush vehicles.

Even after attending this special event in previous years, its always a little different inside the Roush Collection building where they do move different vehicles in and out of the collection.

Among many others, here are a few of the special exhibits on display this year,

-"Big Thunder" a recreation of Jacks old 1962 Ford Falcon 427 Sportsman Drag Car
-The 2001 Stage 3 Roush Mustang NMRA Development Drag Car, driven by Susan Roush McClenaghan
-The 2005 Roush Stage 3 Mustang Drag Pack Development Car
-The 1994 Ford SVT Boss 429 Mustang
-Several Roush Racing Stock Car Championship Race Cars
-The 2003 Viagra Ford Taurus No. 6 Race Car. Comemorating Mark Martins 500 Consecutive Stock Car Racing Starts
-The Roush engine build competition, from bare block and parts to running engine in under 24 minutes.

Just to name a few.

Its a terrific show with an incredible museum collection that every automotive enthusiast should see.
